In the past, electronic music has mostly been about the party or setting the mood. As technology has improved there are many artists redefining the changing landscape of electronic genres.

I went through a phase where I listened to everything T-Bone Burnett has done and I heard his latest work producing Robert Plant and Allison Krauss’ release, Raising Sand.

Our good friends at Reapandsow and Sideways Media are working on another project: releasing vinyl compilations of cover songs. So we headed to the studio in San Francisco to record our cover for the album.

“Jesus Christ! It’s 3:00am, and we’re carrying a bong up the street!” This is one of those realizations you have while on acid. It takes you by surprise when you’re hit by its absurdity. Okay. So, everyone wants to hear the full details about the accident we recently experienced on tour. Before I get into it, I have to say that all of us walked out (or climbed out) of that van in one piece. We are EXTREMELY lucky because 4/6 of us were not wearing seat belts. In mid-September 2009 our first label release, Red Right Return, was slated to drop and we were all psyched to head out for a month-long tour with Framing Hanley. How kick ass is that? Unfortunately, touring isn’t as fun as it sounds. By the second day, I became ill with a stuffy head and cough. Yeah, I had caught a summer cold. Perfect. There isn’t anything more uncomfortable than having a cold while trapped in a van for eight hours every day!

Chase Long Beach

It’s amazing when everything goes off without a hitch, especially when there are nine of you traveling around together in one van for weeks on end. I can’t quite remember even one day, on any tour, that didn’t involve some sort of problem. Okay, the van is broken again. Okay, we’ve circled this town seven times and we don’t think the venue exists. Okay, we’re all out of cigarettes and I think someone pissed in this Gatorade bottle by my pillow.

With a career dating back to 2003, Orange County’s Saosin has gained momentum and fans over the years- thanks in part to their extensive touring and festival appearances. To date, Saosin has been on four Vans Warped tours, a Rockstar Taste Of Chaos outing and 2007’s Projekt Revolution tour. Revolt had a quick Q&A Session with Beau Burchell.
